We were thrilled to kick off our first BMX event of 2025 at Stirling Shopping Centre! This event marked the beginning of an exciting year, as we were invited to facilitate a series of BMX workshops for the local children in the community. The shopping centre generously hosted these BMX workshops free of charge as part of their initiative to offer fun, active, and educational Sunday afternoon activities, with a strong emphasis on health and active travel.
A Day of BMX Fun and Learning: Our BMX Lessons in Action
Despite the challenges of working within a small space, we made the most of it and delivered a series of productive BMX lessons throughout the day. It was truly rewarding to see so many children eager to learn new BMX skills and tricks. Although the space was limited, we found creative ways to teach and ensure everyone got the most out of their experience. The goal of the BMX workshops was to provide each child with a chance to learn and improve, no matter their starting level.
What made the day even more exciting was seeing several participants return later in the day to continue practicing their new skills. It was fantastic to witness how dedicated and motivated the kids were, coming back to give BMX another shot after making some early progress.
From Beginner to BMX Pro in Just One Hour
One of the most impressive moments of the day came when a young participant, with no previous BMX experience, managed to perform a full pull-up bar spin—a technical BMX trick—within just under an hour. For those unfamiliar, a bar spin is a challenging trick that requires balance, timing, and bike control. To achieve it so quickly was an incredible accomplishment and a perfect example of what can be learned in BMX lessons when you stay focused and dedicated.
This moment also highlighted the power of our BMX workshops, which are designed to bring out the best in every participant. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, our BMX events offer a chance to level up your skills and gain new confidence on the bike.
BMX Inside a Shopping Centre – A Unique Experience
It’s not every day you see BMX bikes being ridden inside a shopping centre, and this certainly caught the attention of passers-by. Curious shoppers were often stopping to watch the action unfold, intrigued by the unexpected sight of BMX in such an indoor setting. It’s rare to have BMX events hosted in a shopping mall, and the combination of the busy, bustling environment and the action-packed BMX workshops created an atmosphere full of excitement and energy.
The kids had an amazing time, and it was great to see the spectators enjoying the show too. The event was a great reminder of how BMX can bring people together, whether they’re actively participating or simply watching the fun unfold.
